Deal 1.0

This blog is meant for me to stay sane and on track to where I want to go. I have realized in the past few months that there is much that needs to be written and much that needs to be clarified on several fronts.  It is very easy to let one thing bleed into the other and completely paralyze me. So this blog is a kind of control center. It keeps track of everything I am doing in one place. Why make it public ? Because some of it is just fun and I think it is worth sharing. Some of it is actually serious and worth sharing.  A lot of it is entirely my own confusions and clarifications and these need not be shared. In fact can only be shared at the risk of further confounding things. So anyways, the blog will carry three different kinds of posts.

1) Related entirely to my occupation as a critical political geographer.

2) Related entirely to my vocation as a political theorist.

3) Related entirely to my own aspiration as a novelist.

It will of course be hard to keep these separate all the time. But I will try as far as possible to keep them separate. The occupational stuff is of course the topmost priority because I can only do it in the short run over the next three years. There is no way I can do any of it later on in my life.  I need to do it now too because it is the only way for me to open up into attempting any kind of serious writing in the second genre which I aim to begin three years from now. It is through establishing myself in the second category that I will be able to move onto writing in the third genre – six years down the line. These plans may change of course but I doubt that there will be any major changes in it in the next two years.

So, to keep myself on track, this blog will have frequent updates of all three kinds. Some of them could be plain information. But mostly will be scraps of my notes for writing of all three genres. The bulk of my actual writing will have to happen off the blog. Afterall blogging is not my primary occupation.
